A new section has been added to this site, in which I include images of silks that seem to be from the Victorian period or early 1900's, but we do not know who made them. Can you help identify who made them? last updated 6 July 2009 - details of all the silks we cannot identify. Can you help? | ||

(reasonable quality image) sb2578 - With every good wish (poor quality image) [note: it is possible this bookmark dates from the Brough, Nicholson & Hall period of ownership of the Stevens company] sb1681 - (scroll with words:) Remember the Sabbath Day (reasonable quality image) Very uncharacteristically of Stevens, there are two bookmarks which are identical in words and design, except one has writing in sans serif, and the other in serif. They are recorded under seperate catalogue numbers, although both can be seen displayed side by side for ease of comparison on sb470: Michael Darby, in his published book, noted that the bookmark titled "A birthday gift" existed with normal spacing between the words, and abnormal spacing between words (sb36 and sb40 respectively on this site). He was also though a national hero for his military activities in the South African War, with his defence of Mafeking Grant produced several silk portraits of Baden-Powell and charted his career with different ranks recorded on the printed titles.
