by Godden:

This imposing silk portrait is, of course, the pair to the portrait of King Edward VII - which, incidentally, has no credit to the Grant firm [see go108 on this site]. The design was registered on 2 March 1901 under the number 370915. Numbers were at first printed at the bottom of the card-mount [as the image above], but soon they were woven under the Royal Arms in the silk picture [see go20 on this site].
The portrait is found in two sizes. The larger silk is 5 1/4 inches high, mounted on a card measuring about 9 1/2 inches by 7 inches. The smaller silk is 4 inches high, mounted on a card 7 inches by 5 1/2 inches. This portrait was also issued as a postcard [see gc12 on this site].
A rare version is found mounted on the same card as King Edward VII [see go4 on this site], and some later silks, from 1905 on, are found on a darker card-mount without a title.

Other comments:

This silk was registered on 2 March 1901, with registration number 370915.
